Leader: Let all the earth fear the Lord. Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.

People: For he spoke, and it came to be. He commanded, and it stood firm.

Leader: The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing. He frustrates the plans of the peoples.

People: The counsel of the Lord stands forever. The thoughts of his heart to all generations.

Leader: Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage.

People: The Lord looks down from heaven. He sees all people. From where he sits enthroned he watches all the inhabitants of the earth.

O God, we rejoice in Your rule over all creation and all nations. We trust in Your love, wisdom, and power, and we know that You will overrule the plans and schemes of those who oppose You and Your purposes. We thank You for always watching over us and bringing good into our lives through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, in whose name we pray, “Our Father. . .”
