Psalm 125
(June 3, 2007)

Leader: Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever.

People: As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people, from this time on and forevermore.

Leader: For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest on the land allotted to the righteous, so that the righteous might not stretch out their hands to do wrong.

People: Do good, O LORD, to those who are good, and to those who are upright in their hearts.

Leader: But those who turn aside to their own crooked ways the LORD will lead away with evildoers.

People: May God’s peace rest upon all His people!

Heavenly Father, in this fallen world, we face uncertainties that can shake our faith in You and rob us of our peace. Help us to trust more in Your power and willingness to surround us and protect us. Help us to understand the scriptures, and with renewed understanding believe more in You. Fill us with Your Spirit, so we can be upright in heart and do good to others. Guide us in all ours ways so we can tell others in word and deed about our Lord, Jesus Christ, who taught us to pray, “Our Father. . .”
